My not so festive holiday water marbling

I didn't take too many pictures of this one. I wasn't 100% pleased with it, but it turned out better than my previous attempts. One of the greens I used by Color Club was more of a gray green, which dampered my attempt at making it more festive and holiday themed. I don't absolutely hate it though. My patience wore very thin while I was doing it, I spent 4 hours marbling and had to take it off a few times do to messing up. (Turning the fan off probably would have helped, but I digress.)

At least I didn't use glitter this time which will make it a breeze to remove, haha. :) It's still an interesting color combo. The green gray Color Club does not have a color label so I have no idea what that is. The red was also a Color Club, unlabeled. *Came from a set from TJ Maxx mind you* The lime green was from Pure Ice, and it's one of my favorites for marbling. That brand does particularly well with marbling if you stick to the creams. (Spreads really fast/easy.)

My 2nd attempt at water marbling

..Turned out much better than the first. I like the outcome a lot better when I stick to two colors. I used Snow Me White by Sinful Colors (hence why the edges of the polish line are weird because it doesn't apply the best at all) to bring out the neon in China Glaze's For Audrey and a pink Sinful Colors I can't remember the name of.

I really need a new white. I like Snow Me White just to experiment with because it's cheap. I haven't entirely mastered water marbling so it really was just one big experiment again.

The color combo reminds me of cotton candy.

I had put a thin layer of white on and it was super streaky, didn't really matter though. The actual marble colors covered it up. Which is what I hoped for. I've tried it with multiple layers and it makes the jagged edges at the top even worse. I haven't been able to go on polish hauls recently so I have yet to pick up acetone to help with the jagged polish line. One of the first things I'm going to do when I get money for it.

Didn't swirl the polish at all and this is the design that came out.
I think my biggest problem is swirling too much. I prefer the
marbles that are larger and less.... swirly. >_<

My first water marbling

UGH. Just ugh. Yeaah, as you can tell already I got frusterated with marbling real fast. It didn't turn out terrible for a first attempt, but yeah. The amount of polish wasted made my OCD go a bit crazy as well, this is definetley not something I will do very often.

For future reference, and anyone reading this... DON'T BE LAZY and USE TAPE. It took me awhile to get all the extra polish off my fingers. VERY messy. Here is the pics of my some what failed attempt.

I used some China Glaze, Pure Ice, Sally Hansen... a little bit of everything really. The lime green was Pure Ice and I was very very surprised that it actually worked better out of all of them. I had read that CG and SH were pretty good, but apparently PI beat them both out! At least for me! I had tested some other Pure Ice polishes as well, they all worked very well and spread out over the water very quickly! The only ones that didn't work quite as well were the Pure Ice metallic polishes. Something about Pure Ice's metallic polish formula is off, even when using it for a base color. (Super streaky.)

My nails here are the longest they've been. Ever. I'm having trouble shaping my middle finger nails, not to mention during clean up I accidentally removed too much on one of my middle fingers. So feel free to ignore that, heh. I recently cut my nails down to little nubbies but this was the length they were before I did so. I would have enjoyed the length if I could only find a proper nail shape for my middle nails in particular. *shrug* Sooo here is my failed water marble:

Smeared the white on my pointer finger, otherwise that would have been my favorite.
My ring finger turned out best, IMO.

Meh. Very MEH about this hand. This was the first one I tried, much

less success. My thumb turned out best here, really. Instead of a pretty

marble design, it looks more like hippie vomit.
