Swatch: Studio M - Purple Medallion

LOVE. Love. ~LOVE~! I quickly fell head over heels for this color. I haven't stumbled over a color I absolutely loved in a very long time. I originally bought this with another Studio M polish so that I could layer it. But it turns out it has a nice purple base with the glitter, so I didn't need to do that.

ALSO--I'm excited--I'm getting better at applying my nail polish so that there is a LOT less jagged edges near my cuticles. I'm very excited. I couldn't stop looking at this polish on my nails because I was so happy with it.

My favorite color is purple. I'm fairly certain this Studio M polish is yet another jelly polish, it went on like the other jelly did. It has little flecks of blue, pink, purple glitters in it. In the sun it almost looks holographic, I'm not quite sure what to call it. This mani was a few days old when I took pictures, so excuse the tip wear. Other than the tip wear, these are my favorite photos to date.

Whenever I do a blog give away, I may go buy another one to give out I like it that much. I do wish I had taken some pics of the bottle, but oh well.

I'm also getting better at shaping my nails. Turns out i was putting way too much pressure on them when I filed them. Herp derp.

Holographic striping over neon jelly purple

These are the polishes I decided to use this time around. Here we have (from left to right):

• Art Club - Glitter hologram
• Art Club - Lilac hologram
• Studio M - Thunderbolt

I made a previous post about Studio M's Thunderbolt. From my research, it IS a jelly. It goes on very different compared to a cream polish. This is the strangest nail polish I've used yet!

This polish is very very difficult to capture properly on camera. In poor lighting, it looks to be a dark-ish to medium shade of purple, and in sunlight/better lighting it's a bright neon purple. The bottle is damn cute, too.

I decided to keep it simple, mostly trying out all of my new polishes in one go. (I still have one hologram striping one I didn't use though.) My base coat (ORLY's Bonder) has been acting really weird ever since I got it. It tends to make my cuticles really strange even when I try not to overflood them. This is not the first time where it's made the top ends of my nails look like they're some what peeling. I can't say I like ORLY's Bonder base coat, but it's all I have right now. I use other base coats and my nails don't do this crap, but yeah. Sorry about the tops of my nails looking odd.

Is this a 'jelly' polish?

Studio M - Thunderbolt

I'm very unfamiliar with jelly polishes, and for the past few months I've been wanting to try one. Did I stumble upon one on accident? This is before I put on a top coat. Sorry about that, I didn't clean up or anything because I wasn't fully finished with my polish.

This is "Studio M - Thunderbolt" I think. Got it at Mejer's. I absolutely adore the bottle design, it's really cute. This is a color on my current mani, and the color absolutely amazes me. I wish I could capture it perfectly on camera. That, and I'm too lazy to try to take more pics. Not to mention I've already done some striping on it and will post that mani later.

Like I was saying, the color is gorgeous. In poor lighting it looks like a dark to medium neon purple. In good lighting it looks like a brighter sheer neon purple/pink-ish hue. It's a little hard to explain, but I've never had a polish do that. Probably one of my favorite colors to date. I wish I had a good white color besides Sinful Colors so I could have used that under it to give it a little more vibrancy.

On my ring finger, it shows how sheer it went on. I put on a second coat after this picture, I believe. The finish was very odd, which is why I'm thinking it's a jelly. I'm just unsure and would like confirmation before I post my current mani in the next few days. :-)
